Happy 1 week anniversary to us!!

What a difference a week makes! This time last week we were an hour into the opening – people were shoulder to shoulder with art, food and wine.  Such happy sounds, it spilled out into the street for a bit!  The sounds mixed nicely with the butterfly band that was playing in my stomach.  Was such a blast for us.  The butterflies have settled a bit – but I still get a flutter every time we match someone up with a piece of art from the Gallery.  I hope that feeling never goes away.

Anyway, I’ve been looking at photos friends, families and artists have shared with us over the last week – thank you all so much!  There are so many photos, I can’t post them all so I selected a special photo montage by a friend of Rose’s – really creative and reflects the mood of the evening.  Enjoy!

If you haven’t made it in yet – the Loop will be hopping tomorrow afternoon with “Style in the Loop”.   Stop by and say “Hi” – the space itself is a work of art (if I do say so myself).  We’d love to see you.

Cheers!

Lisa Anne

Happy Friday Everyone!

Our first week in business has flown by!  Thanks to everyone who stopped in to welcome us to the Loop.

This Sunday (September 29) the Loop is hosting “Style in the Loop” from 1 to 6 pm.  Fashion show starts at 4 – I understand the models and fashions are amazing!  We will be open Sunday from Noon to 6:00.  Please stop in and enjoy some our great artisans.

We are fortunate to have a variety of styles of jewelry from local artists Laura Elizabeth Mullen (intricate silver work), Vetro Caldo Designs (dichroic glass, gold, silver and semi-precious stones in a variety of designs),  Jeane Vogel (watercolor photo earrings and pendants), and Sharmon Zielinski (leather and vegan bracelets in a variety of styles for men and women).  Our California artists are equally amazing – Vanessa Gade (sculptural and architectural pieces in gold, silver and rose gold vermeil), Crystal Ouzillou (Earrings and pendants in brass, aluminum and Formica ), and RosaModerna (fused glass pendants, earrings, rings and cufflinks – warning, playing with the pendants is addictive).

If you have enough jewelry (hah!), we also have some whimsical fashion pieces by painter Kelly White and ceramics artist Cathy Broski.

Stop by – we would love to meet you AND we can start a wish list for you!

A friend gave me a card last night with this quote by Maya Angelou: “Life loves to be taken by the lapel and told, “I’m with you kid.  Let’s go.”

That’s what happened last night.  Rose and I took our combined vision and had a blow out grand opening party.  It was exactly the right mix of great weather, people, food, wine, and art.  We had way too much fun – my feet are killing me today!  Beyond our wildest expectations.

I want to take a moment to thank a few people  (I know I am going to forget someone, so I apologize in advance)

–  All of our artists (you collectively “wowed” the crowd and I’m going to have a hard time not buying everything)

– Firecracker Marketworks  (designers of our website – Judy and Lexi you did an amazing job with design and teaching me)

– JR General Services (the best general contractor and crew ever – even when I got names wrong!)

– Rokitmul (designers of our interior and exterior signs – Brian turned my jumbled ideas into something fabulous)

– Rustic Grain and Gravois Glass (whose combined efforts produced our spectacular barn wood doors, counter, and display cases)

– Found (supplier of the majority of our repurposed displays – Maggie, we love you)

– Lauer Architecture (for the idea to slant our wall and the endless drawings required for all of our permits)

LJ (my extremely talented sister for designing and redesigning our logo and space plus hours of painting, sanding, bossing me around and getting me addicted to Duck Dynasty)

– Our families (for your love, support, patience, and knowing when to hand over a piece of dark chocolate – we could not have done this without you)

We look forward to seeing you soon at 6161 Delmar.  Our regular hours are Tuesdays – Thursdays from 11 to 7; Fridays and Saturdays from 11 to 9; Sundays from Noon to 6.  We are closed on Mondays.

I’m going to go enjoy a well earned glass of wine and some football!  See you soon

Grand Opening #2

Hi Everyone:

Our Big Day has finally arrived.  Put the finishing touches on yesterday – and no sooner was the paper off the windows then Allison wandered in to browse.  She was too nice to say “no” to,  so we let her wander around.

Now we are open – at 6161 Delmar #101, adjacent to The Pageant Theatre – and the door is open.  Please stop by and take a look.

Hello Everyone

It is September 19 and we are looking good.  So much hard work by so many people – all I can say is WOW and Thank you!

Feeling like a new mom and can’t wait to show off little Serendipity.

The transformation process has been amazing.  I’ve included a “Before” and “After” shot so you can understand just how pleased we are.  The only thing missing now is YOU.

This is a busy weekend in St. Louis but we hope you will  make a point to come see us – right next to The Pageant in the Historic Loop.  We open for business at noon on Saturday and will hold our Grand Opening Reception from 6 to 8:00.

Hope to see you there!

Hello Everyone!

This has been a very busy week at 6161 Delmar!  We have lights, signs,  beautiful custom displays, clean windows, art work, and most importantly, our  occupancy permit has been approved!!!  The progress is amazing and we couldn’t be more pleased.  Thanks to everyone who made it possible.

Tomorrow my crew and I will be cleaning off the construction dust and getting ready for next weekend.

Stay tuned for some photos of our space – but for now, ponder on these really cool industrial whisks we picked up at Found in Kirkwood.  More photos to follow – so stay tuned.  Better yet, stop by our Grand Opening next Saturday, September 21.  Reception from 6 to 8!

Hello Everyone!

Rose and I would like to welcome you to the Serendipity Gallery Website and Blog.  We have a great location – adjacent to The Pageant Theatre, just east of Skinker on Delmar in the Loop.  It’s a lively block and we can’t wait to open and show you around.

In preparation for our Grand Opening on September 21, we have been working hard – with lots of help from friends, family, contractors and artisans – to transform our great space from a guitar shop into an art gallery.  We are doing a lot of repurposing as part of the décor – I am very proud of the transformation of two old wooden doors into our great looking office desk (a project my sister LJ and I worked on together).  We are very excited about how the diverse odds and ends we’ve collected in the past few months have been transformed by some very skilled craftsmen and women into amazing functional pieces.

Please enjoy these photos of our transformation.  We aren’t quite finished, but I promise we’ll be ready for the Grand Opening on September 21.

As we count down to the date, we invite you to stay tuned for updates on completion of the build out, dressing of the gallery, and introductions to the wonderful artists and their work.

Stay tuned –

Lisa Anne
